Even though he has found a new club this summer, Khaled Adénon, former captain of the Benin Cheetahs, has no intention of returning to the national team.

The announcement of Khaled Adenon's signing with USOOAS ALBERT in Regional 3 has sparked reactions in Benin. Many expected the player to come out of international retirement and don the Cheetahs' jersey once more. However, in a recent statement, Khaled Adénon made his decision clear.

"I signed a short contract with an amateur club. This is not a step backwards, nor is it a move toward a return to the Cheetahs. It's simply for enjoyment, to stay fit, and above all to pass on my experience to a club that only trains twice a week. Let me be clear: I am not coming back to the Benin national team." the Beninese defender told 229foot.
