The Juventus Men’s First Team’s Matchday 4 fixture of the League Phase of this season’s Champions League saw them held to a 1-1 draw against Sporting CP at the Allianz Stadium.
The Bianconeri looked to start on the front foot, and it was Weston McKennie who carved out the first chance of the game, finding Dusan Vlahovic at the back post, only for the no.9 to have his effort stopped by Rui Silva in the Sporting goal.
Moments later, the visitors took the lead through Maximiliano Araujo. Francisco Trincao came close to a second shortly after.
Juventus would have more chances before long though, with both Vlahovic and Pierre Kalulu coming close, but Rui Silva was alert to both attempts.
Manuel Locatelli and Kenan Yildiz each looked to get things going for the Bianconeri, and Vlahovic did get his goal shortly after the half-hour mark to level things up with his third in the Champions League this season.
After the restart there was again a 30-second window wherein Rui Silva had to make two saves, this time denying Khephren Thuram and, once again, Vlahovic.
Luciano Spalletti looked to the bench for fresh legs as the half wore on, and Filip Kostic tried his luck from range not long after his introduction but without success.
In stoppage time, another substitute came close to a winner as Jonathan David’s header was kept out by Rui Silva.
There were to be no more goals on the night, with the spoils shared.
