Bidu joins top 10 full-backs for Corinthians in goal involvements

Matheus Bidu was the name that put Corinthians in the penalty shootout against Cruzeiro, which ended with a spot in the grand final of the Copa do Brasil. With the goal he scored, he entered the top 10 full-backs with the most goal involvements wearing the Timão jersey this century.

According to a survey by journalist Tomás Rosolino, the number 21 matched the numbers of Roberto Carlos, totaling 17 goal involvements for Corinthians overall. This number includes eight goals and nine assists. This century, he is also seventh in terms of most goals scored.

After a turbulent start to 2024, including a possible departure, Matheus Bidu secured a starting spot at the end of last year and became a key player for Timão, whether under coach Ramón Díaz or Dorival Júnior, the current manager.

Bidu renewed his contract with Corinthians in August this year, now tied to the club until the end of 2027. He has played 119 matches wearing the Timão shirt, with 56 wins, 27 draws, and 36 losses. This year, he was part of the Paulistão title-winning squad, even though he lost his starting spot in the final stretch of the championship.
