The big fitness doubt for Inter heading into today’s derby has concerned Calhanoglu.

The Turkish international is just coming back from injury. He’d picked up a thigh problem in the Supercoppa Italiana final against Milan, and then a separate calf strain.

Hakan Calhanoglu has been back in training since Thursday. However, it has not been certain whether he’d be match-fit for this evening’s match against Milan.

According to the Gazzetta, however, the signs look to be very positive for Calhanoglu.

The 30-year-old has not just recovered from his injury. He is also looking ready to play from the start this evening against the Rossoneri, and not just from the bench.

That is certainly a big boost for the Nerazzurri.

Hakan Calhanoglu is a key player in midfield for Inter.

Moreover, the derby is always a special fixture for the Turk. He spent four years as a Milan player before making the jump across the city divide to join Inter in 2021.
