France’s most recent international match-up saw them play Iceland in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with Les Bleus securing a 2-1 victory.

During that win, Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni picked up red card for a reckless challenge. The player was initially given a yellow card, but it was overturned by VAR and he was shown a straight red.

However, this red card has appeared as a blessing for Real Madrid as it has practically ruled him out of the next international break.

Tchouameni won’t play in the next international break

According to Le Parisien, Tchouameni will be handed a two-match suspension for his reckless challenge against Iceland.

That means the former AS Monaco starlet won’t be available during the next international window in October, when Les Bleus are slated to face Azerbaijan and once again, Iceland.

As a result, Tchouameni is not expected to travel during the next international and will remain at Valdebebas.

This could serve as a huge boost for Real Madrid as it not only reduces the risk of getting injured but also means that the player can work on his game and get more familiar with Xabi Alonso’s setup.

Up until now, Tchouameni has featured in every game for Real Madrid this season. But with Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham returning from injuries, the midfielder will face increased competition.

Therefore, it will essential for him to step up his game and make a strong impression, if he is to retain his place in the first-team.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how the Frenchman fares tonight against Levante. With Bellingham also back and possibly starting, team selection from Xabi Alonso will be something to watch out for.
