WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Blues this morning.
Ji returns to the English game three years on from leaving Chelsea. The player enjoyed an eight-year spell with The Blues in which she helped the club dominate the English professional game. Ji won 13 domestic trophies with Chelsea including six league titles.
Since leaving Chelsea, Ji has turned out for Suwon FC and latest club Seattle Reign FC.
On the international stage, Ji is a South Korean national team legend. She is the nation’s all-time record appearance-holder with 169 caps while she holds the highest goal tally with 74.
After joining Birmingham City on loan, Ji said “I’m looking forward to playing in England again. I like the ambition of the Club and I hope I can help Birmingham on their journey to promotion and bring some exciting football for the fans. I am coming here to win.”
Birmingham City completed the paperwork for Ji’s loan move ahead of last night’s transfer deadline. International clearance is required for the player to feature in competitive games for Blues this season.
