FC Bayern Munich celebrated its 35th German championship with a big party on Marienplatz in the center of Munich.

The atmosphere was festive even before the team arrived: fans flocked to Marienplatz from the early hours of the morning, with music and activities constantly heating up the atmosphere.

The team arrived at the town hall at around 1 p.m., where they were officially welcomed by Lord Mayor Dominik Krause. The first words were exchanged in the main conference room. While Lord Mayor Krause congratulated the team on the championship and had many words of praise, FCB President Herbert Hainer had another task for the team.

„The women have already won the double – that is a clear mission, dear Vincent, to bring the trophy home and also win the double. I am sure that you will make us all proud again on Saturday in Berlin,“ said Hainer.

The team then made their way to the Rathausbalkon, which captain Manuel Neuer was the first to enter with the trophy under his arm. One by one, all the other players and the coaching team followed. The team was greeted with thunderous applause from the fans.

„We are the Champions“

Together with the fans, the players and coaching team then sang „We are the Champions“, „German Football Champions, FCB!“ and „Star of the South“ and celebrated the 35th championship in style

Leon Goretzka also had a few words for the fans: „I’d like to thank you all. We all had the feeling this year that we could win the Champions League. That really hurts. But we have one more game in a week – and we’ll give it our all again and want to win the title.“

The 31-year-old will leave the club in the summer after eight years and numerous titles

The celebrations continued afterwards, with Oimara performing his song „Wackelkontakt“, which Tom Bischof and Aleksandar Pavlovic in particular sang along to, and the team got in the mood for the DFB Cup final in Berlin. „Berlin, Berlin, we’re going to Berlin,“ the fans shouted in the direction of the team.
