Valerien Ismael is coming under increased pressure for his lack of positive results at Blackburn Rovers

Pressure is mounting on Blackburn Rovers boss Valerien Ismael after their latest 3-0 away defeat at the hands of Ipswich Town, with the club hovering just one place above the Championship relegation zone.
Rovers' season is in danger of going from bad to worse, with the former Premier League champions at serious risk of dropping into the third tier unless their form undergoes a drastic turnaround.
Ismael, who has had varying degrees of success with the likes of Barnsley, West Brom, and Watford prior to his arrival at Ewood Park, has been the man entrusted with guiding the club this campaign, after being named John Eustace's replacement for the final few months of the 2024-25 season.
And with almost no danger of threatening for a play-off place this season, and just one point above a resurgent Norwich City in the relegation zone, their season is on the brink of disaster.
Following their 3-0 defeat at Portman Road, Ismael said, "Look, at the minute we are trying to find ourselves. We've lost another player to injury, Liam Miller, so are playing without 10 players. We need to stay calm, to ride the storm and wait for players to come back."
With just one win in their last 11 Championship games, despite their injury woes, it appears that some fans are beginning to grow tired of Ismael, with some calling for a change in the dugout in the hopes of saving their season.

Football League World's Blackburn fan pundit, Simon Middlehurst, has shared their views on Ismael and whether they still believe the Frenchman is the right man for the job at the Championship strugglers.
Simon told FLW: "Yeah, I truly believe that the club needs to make a change now. The tactics at the minute just aren't working - they haven't worked all season."There's only so many times that you can come out with the same excuses that we haven't got the players. Yes, it's difficult, we've got a lot of senior players out injured at the minute, but there's no plan B, there's no plan C, and something needs to change."I don't think he's the right person for the job. He didn't really get fans behind him when he first got the job, and as time goes on, it's just getting worse and worse, and there's a lot of unrest between fans and the current situation in the club."I think if the owners want to keep the fans onside or try and get fans onside, they need to make a decision on the managerial side of things."

Blackburn face serious concerns over relegation this season if their form does not improve sooner rather than later.
Indeed, the amount of injuries that have ravaged the squad has been far from ideal, and once players start to return, their form and performances may well see an upturn.
But with one win in 11, there is no getting around the dismal run of form that they are currently on, and if Ismael cannot find a way to remedy it, there is only one outcome.
Whether the Lancashire-based outfit will pull the trigger on Ismael remains to be seen, and what sort of replacement the club would pursue also, at this stage, remains a mystery.
The Frenchman is on borrowed time at Ewood Park to turn the club's form around, as should teams surrounding them also continue to pick up points, it seems like only a matter of time before his fate will be sealed.
