Blesa brace propels Rio Ave up to 11th | OneFootball

Rio Ave beat Estrela Amadora 2-1 in Vila do Conde, climbing from 13th to 11th as Jalen Blesa struck twice.

Blesa tapped in from close range in the 27th minute after Dário Spikic's break and cross.

After the restart, Blesa doubled the lead from the centre of the box (48.), again from Spikic's delivery. Robinho then sparked the visitors, and his cross allowed Rodrigo Pinho to pull one back (65.).

Renan Ribeiro kept Estrela in touch with smart stops either side of the interval, denying Spikic and Blesa, while Ennio Van der Gouw was assured under late pressure.

Spikic went off injured and João Tomé came on (75.) as the hosts managed the closing stages.

Rio Ave registered 18 attempts and 10 corners. Estrela Amadora had 55.6% possession but produced only three shots on target.
