Blow for Dortmund: Adeyemi 'set to miss' Wolfsburg clash

Borussia Dortmund are set to be without Karim Adeyemi for Saturday's Bundesliga trip to Wolfsburg, according to Ruhr Nachrichten.

He was unable to travel with the squad to the Volkswagen Arena. It is a late blow for head coach Niko Kovač, with no reason disclosed.

Adeyemi has featured regularly this season, making 19 Bundesliga appearances and producing five goals and two assists.

The 24-year-old joins Emre Can, Filippo Mané and Marcel Sabitzer on the sidelines. Dortmund sit six points behind leaders Bayern Munich as they chase a vital three points.

Despite the setback, Kovač still has attacking options, with Maximilian Beier expected to step into the starting XI. How long the Germany international is out remains unclear.
