Boca have agreed a deal to re-sign Colombian forward Sebastián Villa from Independiente Rivadavia de Mendoza after weeks of negotiations. He returns having played for the club from 2018 to 2023.
According to SuperDepor.com, Boca will pay six and a half million dollars for the full transfer rights, following a formal request from the player to come back.
Villa will travel next week for his medical, then sign a four-year contract. Coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena will decide whether he features against Sarmiento de Junín in the Copa Argentina next week, or waits until the 23rd for the Copa Sudamericana tie with O'Higgins of Chile.
A legal process between the parties continues over his abrupt 2023 departure, when he left amid a separate claim from his former partner alleging gender-based violence. Club and player have agreed to suspend mediation for 20 days while the move is formalised.
In his previous spell he made 172 appearances for Boca, scoring 29 goals and winning seven titles. He then moved to Bulgaria and in 2024 joined Independiente Rivadavia, with whom he won the Copa Argentina at the end of last year.
Villa becomes Boca's third signing of the window, after Uruguayan defender Leandro Lozano and Colombian goalkeeper Alvaro Montero, who will join in the coming days after World Cup duty.
