Boca are reshaping their squad for next season, with Claudio Úbeda drawing up pre-season plans amid uncertainty over his position. Despite that, several players have been told they are not in his plans.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Agustín Martegani and Lucas Janson are among those excluded after barely featuring under Úbeda.

Martegani, formerly of San Lorenzo, rejected interest in the last window to fight for a place in a crowded midfield, but did not see minutes and will now seek regular football elsewhere. Janson, who has played for Vélez and Tigre, managed only five minutes in the Clausura against Defensa y Justicia on 27 September, otherwise confined to the bench.

Norberto Briasco and Nicolás Orsini, both returning from loans, have also been informed they will not be considered. Briasco comes back from Gimnasia de La Plata after eight appearances and one goal. Orsini returns from Platense, where he celebrated a 2025 title after 22 games and one goal, and has been told to find another loan or bring a bid for a permanent move.

With 11 days to go until pre-season begins, Boca have yet to confirm Úbeda’s continuity. Signs point to him staying, but uncertainty lingers as the squad await clarity before the 25 January opener against Deportivo Riestra at La Bombonera.

The final call rests with Juan Román Riquelme and Marcelo Delgado. The club face a demanding 2026, with the Copa Libertadores the primary target.
