Boca Juniors are back on the training pitch for a decisive Libertadores tie against Universidad Católica, while the basketball side starts its Liga Nacional semi-final away to Quimsa.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Claudio Úbeda’s squad are preparing at Ezeiza for the match at La Bombonera on Thursday 28 May, the team’s final outing of the semester.
Boca must beat Universidad Católica to reach the next phase of the Copa Libertadores. A draw or defeat would eliminate them and leave a Copa Sudamericana play-off as the only route.
Úbeda, known as Sifón, is beginning to settle on his starters. Miguel Merentiel trained separately on Friday and could rejoin the group on Saturday, while he and Marco Pellegrino worked apart to manage workloads.
There is an enforced change at the back, as Ayrton Costa is suspended after reaching the yellow-card limit. Pellegrino will step in if, as expected, he is physically ready.
Boca’s basketball team open their semi-final series against Quimsa as visitors. Tip-off is at 11:30 at Estadio Ciudad de Santiago del Estero, with live coverage on TyC Sports.
Nicolás Casalánguida’s side arrive on the back of two 3-0 sweeps, first over San Martín de Corrientes in the reclassification, then against Oberá Tenis Club in the quarter-finals.
