With focus still fixed on a vital meeting with Universidad Católica, Boca Juniors are already shaping their next window. ESPN reports that they have opened talks for Felipe Loyola, reviving interest from his Independiente de Avellaneda spell, and plan to contact Sebastián Villa about a possible return amid a contract dispute.

Initial enquiries and formal interest have been lodged with Loyola’s representatives. Inside the club, a right-back is seen as a priority regardless of the Católica result and last-16 qualification.

The team have had to improvise in that role, which has heightened the urgency. Chatter around Ezeiza suggests the pursuit is gathering pace.

Loyola, 25, is a Chilean central midfielder by trade who has also impressed at right-back. He is currently at Pisa in Italy, who were relegated to Serie B, and has played only 10 competitive games this year.

Any move would depend on the player choosing to leave Europe for game time and return to Argentina. Many supporters remain opposed to a Villa comeback, citing his exit and his conviction for gender-based violence.
