Boca officially unveil Santiago Ascacibar and Ángel Romero | OneFootball

Boca Juniors officially presented Santiago Ascacíbar and Ángel Romero on Tuesday, the first additions to Claudio Úbeda's squad for the 2026 season.

According to SuperDepor.com, the deals were sealed as the window closed, which will continue for clubs that suffer injuries or sell players abroad. Ascacíbar arrives from Estudiantes de La Plata, while the Paraguayan Romero joins as a free agent from Corinthians of Brazil.

Both players completed medicals in the afternoon, then joined first-team training. They were later introduced at a news conference by club president Juan Román Riquelme.

Santiago Ascacíbar will wear the number 25 shirt. Romero has been assigned 29.

Boca visit Estudiantes de La Plata on Wednesday at 22:15, on matchday two of the Apertura. On matchday three, with the new signings available, they will host Newell's Old Boys of Rosario.
