Boca beat Newell's 2-0 at La Bombonera, with goals from Lautaro Blanco and Leandro Paredes, to rebound from last weekend's defeat to Estudiantes.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Santiago Ascacíbar debuted and five academy graduates started. The hosts played with authority and controlled the contest.
Blanco was among the standouts, raiding forward and delivering repeatedly from the left before striking the opener. Paredes captained assertively and converted a penalty, leaving to loud applause.
Agustín Marchesín stayed calm and dealt with the few threats. Lautaro Di Lollo and Ayrton Costa were secure, while Juan Barinaga struggled on the ball and his uneven run continued.
Ascacíbar added bite and balance in midfield and went close with a header. Exequiel Zeballos drifted inside, created the move for the opener and was the game’s biggest menace. Ander Herrera recovered from a heavy foul and saw Arias save his best chance.
Gonzalo Gelini impressed early on his full debut then faded. Iker Zufiaurre, again out of position, fought for every ball. From the bench, Ángel Romero won the penalty, Kevin Zenón led counters, Milton Delgado recovered possession, and Tomás Belmonte arrived too late to influence.
Coach Claudio Úbeda kept faith with the same shape featuring the youngsters and Ascacíbar. The changes were sound and Boca rarely suffered. They visit Vélez next.
