Boca have returned to training after a 3-0 loss at Deportivo Riestra, with Copa Sudamericana progression at stake in three days.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, there was no day off for the squad. Coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena called the setback worrying and a harsh reality check, said they must keep their heads down and work, and accepted primary responsibility.
He wants a quick reset before the second leg of the round of 32 against O'Higgins at El Teniente in Rancagua. Boca hold only a narrow advantage from the first meeting, with Recoleta of Paraguay awaiting in the last 16.
The headline team news is the return of captain Leandro Paredes, who rejoined after two days of leave granted following his World Cup involvement and return without a holiday. He will travel on Wednesday and will start the second leg, having supplied Miguel Merentiel for the only goal of the tie so far.
Goalkeeper Álvaro Montero finished the Riestra match with muscle discomfort and was in visible pain in the mixed zone, but completed regeneration work this morning. Milton Giménez and Carlos Palacios are also back, the former from a right adductor issue, the latter from a pectineus overload in the same leg, training with those who featured little or not all at once. Arruabarrena must decide on their travel and use in Rancagua, a call that is almost a given.
