Boca are pressing ahead with a squad clear-out, with the board moving to complete the departures of Agustín Martegani, Lucas Janson, Juan Ramírez and Marcelo Saracchi to trim numbers and cut the wage bill, according to LaNumer12.com.ar.

The rebuild has entered a decisive phase after recent high-profile contract terminations, such as that of Ander Herrera. In this context, Martegani, formerly of San Lorenzo, is being lined up for a short-term exit either on loan or via a contract rescission.

A similar path is under discussion for Janson, the ex Vélez forward, whose displays have fallen short since arriving. A loan is viewed positively and talks are under way with several clubs. Both players appear on the new coach’s list of dispensable options to sharpen competition.

Ramírez’s case is more complex, with no minutes since his return to the club. With no concrete bids, a mutual termination is being evaluated, mirroring Nicolás Orsini’s recent departure.

Saracchi has returned after ending his loan at Celtic in Scotland, and his presence takes up an international slot the hierarchy want to free to recruit from abroad. The football department aim to place him overseas on another loan or, failing that, agree a permanent sale in the domestic market.

Estudiantes de La Plata are interested, though to avoid him occupying a foreign slot there he would need to be sold. These moves point to a sweeping reset before the second half of the year, with salary trimming and a freed foreign place creating room for arrivals and a compact, younger, fully fit group.
