Sacha Boey could leave FC Bayern sooner than expected just a few months ago. Despite decent performances, the Frenchman lacks perspective under Vincent Kompany – and the list of interested clubs is getting longer and longer.

The developments of recent weeks speak for themselves: Sacha Boey is one of the candidates for sale in the upcoming winter transfer window. According to information from transfer insider Ekrem Konur, Munich are planning to put the full-back on the sales list in January. A move that is understandable in view of the sporting situation – and could become economically necessary.

Interest in Boey is high, with Galatasaray, Juventus Turin, AS Monaco, Olympique Lyon, West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Sevilla FC all said to be keeping a close eye on the situation. Clubs from the Premier League, La Liga and Ligue 1 in particular are seen as attractive targets for the 25-year-old, who would love to leave Munich in one of these directions.

Galatasaray dream of a return – but Boey prefers other leagues

A few days ago, Sky reported that Galatasaray were seriously considering a return. The Turkish top-flight club only sold Boey to FC Bayern for around €30 million in January 2024 and have been monitoring his situation closely ever since.

According to transfer expert Florian Plettenberg, a loan was already discussed in the summer and now a permanent transfer would even be possible. However, Boey himself is said to view a return to the Bosphorus only as an emergency solution: his focus is clearly on England, Spain or France.

Boey’s current market value is around 18 million euros – far below the amount invested by the German record champions at the start of the year. A sale could nevertheless help to free up salary budgets and transfer funds.

Bayern needs budget for Read

Internally, Bayern have long been working on reinforcements for the right side of defence. Givairo Read from Feyenoord is regarded as the sporting management’s absolute dream transfer. The 19-year-old U21 international combines pace, robustness and international experience – a profile that fits in perfectly with the long-term squad planning.

According to Plettenberg, talks with those close to Read are already in full swing, but the deal could be expensive – and this is where Boey comes into play.

A sale of the Frenchman would create financial leeway and pave the way for a Read transfer in the summer or even earlier.
