Bologna ‘to make it happen’ for Jhon Lucumí if offer suits | OneFootball

Bologna promised Jhon Lucumí they would consider a summer exit after blocking Sunderland’s move for the defender last year.

“A year ago, we couldn’t sell him at the end of the transfer window, but we promised him that this year, given a suitable offer, we’d make it happen,” Fenucci said. He was speaking to Pallone nel 7.

Sunderland had explored a deal during the previous window to bolster Régis Le Bris’ squad, but Bologna refused a late sale because there was not enough time to find a replacement.

The remarks could open the door to a move in this window, although any bidder would need to meet Bologna’s valuation. Lucumí is under contract and a key part of the Serie A side, so there is no pressure to sell cheaply.

“The transfer window hasn’t really taken off yet, and if it didn’t for Lucumi either, we’d be happy to keep him,” he added. Sunderland continue to assess left-sided defensive options with Premier League, domestic cup and European commitments sharpening the need for depth.
