Earlier this afternoon, Real Madrid were dealt the injury of their defensive prodigy Joan Martinez.
Having recently recovered from a long-term ACL injury, the youngster has been sidelined for at least a month following a fresh knock.
Now, to make matters worse, it appears Real Madrid have once again been dealt a blow, with another youth player picking up an injury.
According to Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, Victor Valdepenas has become the latest Real Madrid youth player to pick up a knock.
Thankfully for Los Blancos, it is not considered a serious injury, with the young defender set to undergo further tests.
Rai confirms that Valdepenas will miss the next few matches for RM Castilla and, naturally, won’t be available for selection in the first team either.

This comes at a time when Real Madrid have already lost Dean Huijsen due to a short-term injury, while Joan Martinez has been ruled out for a month.
This is perhaps why Arbeloa has been forced to start with David Alaba in Real Madrid’s game against Osasuna.
Alaba’s selection signifies that Real Madrid are not in a position to use the pool of young talents to fill up the team, no thanks to these fresh injuries.
Valdepenas’ fitness will be closely observed not just by Real Madrid but by foreign entities too, with Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund emerging as potential suitors.
Both clubs are keen on acquiring the services of the Real Madrid star in the summer, amid fears that he may leave the club due to a lack of first-team opportunities.
Even AC Milan are involved in the race to sign the young Spaniard.
