Borussia Dortmund said in a statement that captain Emre Can has ruptured the cruciate ligaments in his left knee, adding that he faces a long absence and that the setback is a major blow for player and team.
Can left the field in tears late in the first half of Saturday's 2-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga's 24th round.
