Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha scored for Germany in their 1-1 draw against Hungary, while Maximilian Beier netted a brace for the U-21s on Tuesday evening.

Germany wrapped up their international break in Budapest as they took on Hungary on Tuesday. With a place in the quarterfinals already secured, Julian Nagelsmann made a host of changes to his side. Borussia Dortmund trio Felix Nmecha, Julian Brandt, and Nico Schlotterbeck all played from the start for Germany while Pascal Groß dropped to the bench.

There wasn't much in terms of chances in the first-half, but things picked up a bit after the break. Brandt had a goal ruled out for offside, before Kai Havertz was denied by the post. Nmecha then fired Germany in front in the 76th minute, turning home from the rebound after Schlotterbeck's initial header was saved.

Hungary were then awarded a penalty in the 97th minute as Robin Koch handled the ball inside the box. Dominik Szoboszlai stepped up and scored the equalising goal to deny Germany the three points.

Despite the draw, Germany finished top in their UEFA Nations League group. Second placed Netherlands played out a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday. Donyell Malen came off the bench in the 66th minute.

Brace for Maximilian Beier, disappointment for Serhou Guirassy

Maximilian Beier was also in action on Tuesday as the Germany U-21s went up against France. The Borussia Dortmund forward opened the scoring in the fifth minute and looked lively all game long. He then doubled his tally five minutes after the restart, with former BVB winger Ansgar Knauff setting up the goal.

France turned things around to secure a draw, with Mathys Tel and Loum Tchaouna getting on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Serhou Guirassy and Guinea missed out on qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Tanzania. The striker was on the pitch for the entire game but wasn't able to lead his team to victory.
