Borussia Dortmund will look to seal a spot in the Club World Cup knockout stages when they take on South Korean champions Ulsan HD at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati on Wednesday at 21:00 CET.
Following a frustrating 0-0 draw in their opener against Fluminense, the Black and Yellows bounced back with a 4-3 win over South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns - though the performance was far from convincing.
Leading 4-1 in the second half, Dortmund allowed Sundowns back into the game and were left clinging to the three points in sweltering conditions.
The post-match mood in the Dortmund camp was self-critical, and improvement will be expected on Wednesday against Ulsan, who have lost both of their Club World Cup matches so far.
The K League champions most recently went into half-time 2-1 up against Fluminense, only to collapse in the second half and lose 4-2 after conceding three unanswered goals.
As a result, unlike Mamelodi Sundowns (3 points), Dortmund (4) and Fluminense (4), Ulsan are already eliminated and have only pride left to play for in their final group match.
Neither side has reported any fresh injury concerns. Dortmund remain without long-term absentees Emre Can, Salih Özcan, and Nico Schlotterbeck.
Borussia Dortmund: Kobel - Süle, Anton, Bensebaini - Ryerson, P. Groß, F. Nmecha, Svensson - Brandt, Bellingham - Guirassy
Ulsan HD: H.-W. Jo - S.-W. Kang, Y.-G. Kim, Jae-Ik Lee, Trojak, Ludwigson - S.-B. Ko, Bojanic, J.-H. Lee - Um, Erick Farias
