Botafogo’s association has escalated its legal fight with John Textor by returning to court.
On Wednesday it appealed to the 21st Civil Chamber of the Rio Court of Justice against a first-instance decision that rejected the complaint between Eagle Football Holdings and Textor and sent the dispute to arbitration. According to OGlobo, the association says the SAF’s conduct could cause serious financial damage, worsened by poor management and rising debt, and risky operations to mask the club’s situation.
The association is seeking to overturn the ruling that currently keeps Textor in charge of Botafogo.
That characterisation recalls the situation experienced by OL under the American’s presidency.
A day earlier, Textor had said Botafogo would file a complaint against OL over the phantom transfers case, one he had himself led.
Under pressure on several fronts, and after being sidelined from Eagle by creditor Ares, Textor appears to be playing his last cards.
