‘Both of their price tags look cheap’ – Jody Morris on Caicedo and Rice | OneFootball

Jody Morris thinks both Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice are actually underpriced, as Chelsea prepare to host Arsenal this week.

It is a battle of first vs second in the Premier League, and Morris thinks it is also a battle between the two best midfielders in the league.

The former Chelsea player, speaking to HaytersTV via Casino.org, real money slots, said: “They’re both over £100 million players, and both of their price tags look cheap now. If you were to try and buy either of them now, it’s definitely a lot more than what both Arsenal and Chelsea have paid for them.

“But they’re certainly, for me, they are maybe the first and second (best) midfielders in the league. I’m not going to tell you which one would be first, though!”

The similarities between the midfielders are striking. They were both bought in the summer of 2023, both cost over £100 million, and both came to London from other Premier League clubs.

Even though they are often compared though, Morris thinks they are actually different players: “I wouldn’t actually pit them against each other because I think they’re different players. That’s going to sound like I’m sitting on the fence. But I have to admit, I love both players.

“I’m a massive, massive fan of Dec. I think what he’s done at Arsenal has been absolutely outstanding. I wish that I was sitting here talking about Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice in the same team, if I’m being honest.”

Morris isn’t the only one who wishes Caicedo and Rice were in the same team. Chelsea had been actively pursuing Rice for a number of years before he joined Arsenal.

The 26-year-old was in Chelsea’s academy as a child and played alongside Mason Mount for years, before being released as a teenager. The Blues later wanted to recruit him from West Ham, but opted to sign Caicedo instead, due to what they considered an English premium on Rice’s price tag.
