According to a report by L’Équipe, Premier League sides AFC Bournemouth and West Ham United are interested in signing Olympique de Marseille striker Elye Wahi (22) – who only joined Les Olympiens in the summer from RC Lens. Yet no offer has yet been sent for the striker, with discussions are only at a preliminary stage between the clubs concerned. The former Lens and Montpellier striker has had struggles adapting to life at the Vélodrome, recently being one-upped by Neal Maupay as the starting forward in De Zerbi’s starting eleven. Wahi has played 13 games so far this season and scored three goals for Les Olympiens this season.
L’Équipe report that two factors will be key to whether a move takes place: the players’ willingness to look elsewhere for game time and the Premier League sides’ ability to come close to the €25m plus €5m in bonuses spent last summer to bring Wahi to Marseille from RC Lens. A loan with an option to buy, or a straight transfer could be possible. GFFN | George Boxall
