Bournemouth travel to Tyneside this afternoon while they seek a historic fifth consecutive FA Cup away victory.
Andoni Iraola’s side has moved past a difficult winter period after finally recording their first win since October against Tottenham. Despite the jubilation of that victory, the Cherries face a major challenge today as they prepare for life without several key attacking figures. Bournemouth possess an excellent recent record against Newcastle and will be confident of causing an upset against their former manager.
The Cherries manage a severely depleted squad following the news that Antoine Semenyo will complete a move to Manchester City this week. His departure is a second significant blow after Justin Kluivert was ruled out with a serious knee injury. Furthermore, Tyler Adams and Ryan Christie remain unavailable in the engine room.
Consequently, David Brooks is expected to be the primary beneficiary, starting on the flank in place of Semenyo. Evanilson will lead the line, supported by the emerging Junior Kroupi and Marcus Tavernier. Defensively, Bafode Diakite and Adam Smith are pushing for starts, while Đorđe Petrović is poised to continue in goal as Bournemouth look to replicate their quarter-final run from last season.
Bournemouth predicted XI: Petrovic; Smith, Diakite, Senesi, Truffert; Scott, Cook; Tavernier, Kroupi, Brooks; Evanilson
The FA Cup third-round fixture takes place at St James’ Park on Saturday, 10 January 2026. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
The match will not be broadcast on TV due to the Saturday 3pm blackout time in the UK.
