Bayern Munich and several of Europe’s top clubs may have been handed a significant boost in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola after reports emerged that the winger has rejected a contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG have been attempting to tie the France international down to a new long-term deal for several months, but negotiations have so far failed to produce an agreement.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcola has rejected the latest renewal offer from the reigning UEFA Champions League winners and has informed the club that he has no intention of extending his current contract.
Those claims have been reinforced by L’Équipe, which also reports that the 23-year-old is unwilling to sign a new deal in the French capital, fuelling speculation over a potential departure.
Liverpool are currently believed to be leading the race for Barcola’s signature, while Bayern Munich have long admired the versatile forward and continue to monitor his situation closely.
Any move from the Bundesliga champions is likely to depend on developments elsewhere in the transfer market, particularly the future of Luis Díaz, who continues to attract strong interest from Saudi Arabia. Bayern are expected to reassess their options should the Colombian leave.
Despite the growing uncertainty surrounding Barcola’s future, PSG are under no pressure to sell and would reportedly only consider offers in the region of €120 million. Such a fee would make any deal one of the biggest transfers of the summer.
