The next Liga Portugal Betclic round is heading for an unusual reshuffle, with Braga’s European commitments prompting a rare league-wide adjustment.

According to Glorioso 1904, regulations state the final two matchdays must be played on the same day and at the same time whenever title, relegation or European places are at stake, so tight scheduling already applied.

UEFA rules also guarantee clubs a minimum 72 hours between matches. With Braga away to Freiburg on Thursday night, they cannot play domestically before Sunday night, which means, in theory, Benfica v Braga from matchday 32 would be staged on Monday 11 May.

The solution outlined is to move virtually the entire round to that Monday, with seven fixtures kicking off simultaneously, an uncommon scenario that will disrupt routines for teams and supporters.

Benfica’s next match is against Braga in the 33rd round at Estádio da Luz, against Carlos Vicens’s side, with date and kick-off still to be confirmed. The game will be televised on BTV.
