Carlos Augusto and Francesco Acerbi will miss Inter Milan’s Serie A match away to Fiorentina on Sunday evening.
This according to Calciomercato.com. They report that both of the pair will be out with muscle injuries.
Inter take on Fiorentina in Serie A on Sunday evening.
And the Nerazzurri and La Viola go into the match level on points in the league table.
At the start of the weekend, Inter and Fiorentina are just a point behind league leaders Napoli. As are Lazio and Atalanta.
Therefore there is a feeling that Sunday’s match could have major implications for the title race.
And Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be without a couple of notable players as he looks to pick his team for the match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Firstly, defender Acerbi is currently coming back from a thigh strain.
The 36-year-old picked up the problem during last Saturday’s Serie A win over Hellas Verona.
Acerbi is back in training today, though. However, he still has a bit to go before he can return to full fitness.
And according to Calciomercato.com, Inzaghi will not risk Acerbi on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto has picked up a muscle problem of his own.
And according to Calciomercato.com, like Acerbi, he will not be part of the Inter squad on Saturday.
