Saleng signs for Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the shock signing of Monnapule Saleng from Betway Premiership rivals Orlando Pirates.
The 27-year-old forward spent the first half of the campaign on a season-long loan at newly promoted outfit Orbit College.
This comes after Saleng was phased out of the Bucs' team last season, with his last appearance for Pirates dating back to December 2024 in the CAF Champions League against Al Ahly of Egypt.
It was reported that the player was at loggerheads with the Pirates hierarchy over improved terms on his contract, but his agent Karabo Mathang Tshabuse has since rubbished the claims.
Saleng, who joined the Soweto giants during the 2021/22 season from the now-defunct Free State Stars, scored 25 goals and laid 17 assists in 70 matches across all competitions for Pirates.
Furthermore, he won five trophies with the Sea Robbers including three MTN8 titles, and two Nedbank Cup trophies.
In his brief spell with Orbit, Saleng chipped in with two goals and provided three assists in 12 games in all competitions this term.
It remains to be seen how the left-footed attacker will fare in his new adventure with the defending champions Sundowns.
