Inter Milan could pay a fee for Atalanta midfielder Ederson in line with what they spent on Romelu Lukaku in 2019.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908.
Inter Milan have identified Atalanta midfielder Ederson as the perfect replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu.
The Nerazzurri are bracing for the possibility of the Turkish international heading for the exit door. Galatasaray are pushing to sign him behind the scenes.
And in the event that happens, obviously Inter will want a suitable replacement. For that, they view Ederson as an ideal candidate.
However, Ederson will not come cheap. Atalanta want to cash in to the tune of €60 million on the former Salernitana and Corinthians midfielder.

According to the Gazzetta, however, Inter would be willing to pay somewhere in that region to sign Ederson.
Shorting up midfield with a player of the Brazilian’s calibre would be a priority if Calhanoglu leaves.
Therefore, Inter could return to the kind of spending they haven’t seen in more than half a decade.
In the summer of 2019, Inter broke the bank to sign striker Romelu Lukaku from Manchester City. They paid around €65 million for the Belgian.
And since then, Inter’s well-known financial issues have restricted them more to budget signings.
However, this time out it could be different. Inter may make their biggest money signing in six years if they do manage to bring in Ederson.
