Brenner injures knee, leaves in pain as Vasco await medical assessment | OneFootball

Vasco forward Brenner injured his right knee in the final move of the 1-1 draw at Coritiba at Couto Pereira in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

According to Globo.com, the No 20 sustained trauma to the area, began initial treatment in the dressing room, and will undergo tests at CT Moacyr Barbosa on Thursday when the squad reports back.

He started on the bench and came on in the second half under Renato Gaúcho. Brenner had a counter-attack chance for Vasco but shot against the defence.

He was hurt while trying to dispossess Lucas Ronier in midfield, mis-timing the attempt as his knee popped on the turf.

It is too early to determine the severity. He will have further assessments and imaging, and he left the ground complaining of a lot of pain.

His availability for Saturday’s match against Botafogo at São Januário will depend on the outcome of those evaluations.
