Breno Bidon hails Majestoso draw, lauds Corinthians' attack

On the afternoon of this Sunday (18), Corinthians drew 1-1 with São Paulo at the Neo Química Arena, in the third round of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista. The goal for the Alvinegro was scored by Breno Bidon, while Gonzalo Tapia scored for the rival. The classic brought together more than 44,000 fans in Itaquera.

After the final whistle, Breno Bidon spoke with TNT Sports as he left the field. The midfielder assessed the result, acknowledged that the draw was achieved in a difficult context, but emphasized that Corinthians created more opportunities throughout the match and could have come away with the victory.

“Ah, it ends up being a good result considering how the game went, but I believe we had every chance to leave here with the win. We managed to create a lot, there was a moment of distraction when they scored their goal, but I believe we created much more than they did. So, I’m also happy to have scored the equalizer. Unfortunately, we didn’t come away with the win, but now we have to work because we have another classic ahead of us.”, said Bidon.

The scorer of the Corinthians goal late in the match, Bidon also commented on the emotion of finding the net in a Majestoso played at the Neo Química Arena, recalling a previous situation with commentator André Henning.

“For sure, I didn’t expect it. Even in the game against Ponte Preta, he was commentating and he said, ‘It wasn’t today, but maybe in the next game.’ And it ended up happening in the best way, against São Paulo here at our home. Very happy and sending a hug to him, my partner.”, said the number 7.

After facing São Paulo at home in the Paulistão, Corinthians remain focused on the state tournament. Next Thursday (22), at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will go to Vila Belmiro to face Santos in the fourth round of the competition’s first phase.
