Brentford face a fitness worry over Mikkel Damsgaard ahead of Saturday’s visit to Elland Road after he suffered a knock in Monday’s 2-2 draw.
“He will be a concern and I haven’t spoken to the medics yet. It has been frustrating and he has played through a lot of pain, so we have to see how he is.” he told West London Sport.
Brentford led 2-0 through Michael Kayode and Igor Thiago, with Adam Armstrong replying before the break, then Tolu Arokodare equalised on 77. Damsgaard took a knock shortly beforehand, tried to continue, then made way for Kristoffer Ajer.
Damsgaard has been a key creative outlet this season, with three goals and four assists in 26 Premier League appearances, 18 of them starts. He did not start December’s 1-1 draw at home to Leeds, coming off the bench for 30 minutes.
Andrews’ Forest reference was 25 January, when Damsgaard went off after 36 minutes with a knee issue and missed one league game. He has since featured seven times in all competitions, completing 90 minutes twice.
He will be assessed this week and could join a growing injury list. Vitaly Janelt, Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey are out until after the March break, while the season is likely over for Josh Dasilva, Antoni Milambo and Fabio Carvalho.
Brentford have won one of their past five league matches, a 4-3 success at Burnley, and have drawn the last two.
