Brian Brobbey has moved to cool talk of a summer switch to Chelsea or Bayern Munich, saying he has heard nothing concrete about a transfer. The Sunderland striker has impressed in his debut Premier League season.

“It is always nice when such a big club shows interest, but I haven’t heard anything myself. So, I don’t know.” He told ViaPlay.

Pressed on a possible move to Germany, the 24-year-old added: “I don’t know. I’m not thinking about that right now.”

The Dutch forward has made 27 Premier League appearances this term, scoring six goals, after joining from Ajax last summer under Régis Le Bris.

His form has also been recognised by Ronald Koeman, who recalled him to the Netherlands squad, where he earned his ninth and 10th senior caps in last month’s fixtures against Norway and Ecuador.

“When I arrived here, everything was new, and I wasn’t fully fit yet. I hadn’t played much at Ajax. So I had to work on my fitness with substitute appearances and training sessions. I really grew in that area.”

“I also became more mature on the pitch. You play with experienced players who have been through a lot, like Granit Xhaka and Nordi Mukiele. You learn from that.”

Sunderland travel to Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.
