Brian Brobbey has played down links to Chelsea and Bayern Munich, saying he has not been told of any firm approach after a standout first Premier League campaign with Sunderland.
“It is always nice when such a big club shows interest, but I haven’t heard anything myself. So, I don’t know,” he said, speaking to ViaPlay.
Asked about a possible switch to Germany, he added: “I don’t know. I’m not thinking about that right now.”
The 24-year-old has made 27 Premier League appearances, scoring six goals, and both clubs are understood to have monitored his progress this season.
Signed from Ajax last summer, he has adapted quickly under Régis Le Bris and earned a Netherlands recall from Ronald Koeman, winning his ninth and 10th caps last month against Norway and Ecuador.
He arrived with fitness to build after limited minutes at Ajax, improved through substitute outings and training, and feels he has matured alongside experienced team-mates such as Granit Xhaka and Nordi Mukiele.
Sunderland visit Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.
