Brighton travel to North London on Saturday, facing a daunting task against the league leaders.
Fabian Hürzeler’s side are winless in their last four Premier League matches. Moreover, the manager is battling a personal “December curse,” having never won a Premier League game in this month. However, the Seagulls have often saved their best performances for the Emirates Stadium.
They are unbeaten in their last four Premier League meetings with Arsenal prior to this season. With key players returning from suspension, Brighton will hope to rediscover their scoring touch after two consecutive blanks.
Fabian Hürzeler has received a double boost with captain Lewis Dunk and midfielder Diego Gómez returning from suspension. Both are expected to slot straight back into the starting XI. Additionally, there is hope that Danny Welbeck and Jan Paul van Hecke will be fit to feature after missing the last game.
However, the midfield has been weakened by the departure of Carlos Baleba to the Africa Cup of Nations. In defence, Adam Webster remains a long-term absentee. Georginio Rutter is expected to lead the line, supported by Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh, as the Seagulls look to end their goal drought.
Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Wieffer, Veltman, Dunk, Kadıoğlu; Ayari, Gómez, Gruda; Mitoma, Rutter, Minteh
The Premier League fixture takes place at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, 27 December 2025. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm GMT.
This match will not be broadcast live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm blackout on Saturdays. Highlights will be available on BBC’s Match of the Day.
