Bristol City sign former England youth international midfielder Meena | OneFootball

Bristol City have completed the signing of former England youth international midfielder Malaika Meena on a free transfer.

The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club X account this evening. Bristol City beat the transfer deadline to secure the player’s services.

The 21-year-old Slough-born midfielder moves to Ashton Gate off the back of combining playing football with her studies in the United States. Meena has spent her time Stateside with Wake Forest University. During her time in America, the player has got 65 games under her belt in the college system and she was impressive in her performances for her club.

Meena spent her youth in the academy system at Arsenal where she was a member of a successful Gunners side. The youngster was also on Chelsea’s books in the early days of her career.

On the international stage, Meena has previously represented England Under-18s. She could yet push for further honours with The Young Lionesses.

Meena is Bristol City’s third signing of the January transfer window. The player could be in-line to make her debut for The Robins when they face Southampton in their next Barclays Women’s Championship fixture at Ashton Gate on Sunday 16 February 2025.
