Alejandro Garnacho doubled United’s advantage in the 67th minute, with Fernandes being the provider yet again.

Fernandes ensured there were no doubts whatsoever about where all the three points were heading as he smashed in a third in stoppage time.

United remain 13th in the table, two points behind Crystal Palace who have a game in hand.

Beyond his goal and two assists, Fernandes touched the ball 76 times and found his teammates with 47 of the 55 passes he completed (85% individual pass accuracy). Six of his passes were key passes.

Fernandes aimed three crosses and managed to connect with five of the eight long balls he pinged. He created one big chance, that led to United’s opener.

He was brilliant defensively, winning six of the nine ground duels he delved into and coming out on top in the one aerial duel he contested.

The United skipper also made two clearances.

Against Leicester, Fernandes made the most final third passes (20), most ball recoveries (16), attempted the most tackles (7), won the most tackles (6) and created the most chances (4).

He also fired the most shots (4).

It was another breathtaking display from Fernandes, who almost seems unstoppable at the moment.
