It seemed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (37) was one of the players that Olympique de Marseille were most keen to get off their books amid a recently imposed period of austerity. La Provence reported that, keen to rid themselves of the Gabonese forward’s high salary, he would be available for under €2m.
However, Onze Mondial now report that Aubameyang has now exchanged with new manager Bruno Genesio, whose arrival was confirmed earlier this month. Genesio, the publication understands, would like to retain the former Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona forward. Talks with OM’s hierarchy are now scheduled.
It comes amid strong interest from Turkey and particularly from Corum FK, who will play in the top-flight next season following their promotion. Aubameyang has already met the club’s representatives, according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri. There is an agreement in principle already in place. Corum would have to reach an agreement with Marseille, whilst there is also interest from the MLS, Onze Mondial understands.
