Bruno Henrique plays down Zico comparisons after signing Flamengo deal until 2027 | OneFootball

Bruno Henrique has extended his Flamengo contract until 2027 and played down any comparison with Zico, saying his focus is on helping the team.

Speaking to Flamengo TV, he said he does not want to surpass Zico in the club’s gallery, adding that his aim is simply to help Flamengo as often as possible over the next year and a half.

Alongside the renewal, the club president announced the forward will have a bust at the Gávea headquarters, making the No 27 the first Flamengo player of this century to have a sculpted representation.

Henrique joined Flamengo in 2019, contributing to the sides that won the Brasileirão and the Libertadores. Alongside Arrascaeta, he is the most decorated player in the club’s history with 18 titles.

With him available, Flamengo face Independiente Medellín in Colombia in the fourth round of Group A of the Libertadores. Kick-off is at 21:30 Brasília time this Thursday.
