Barcelona may not be close to signing Fisnik Asllani this summer, but the current Hoffenheim forward has once again shown where his football loyalties lie.
The highly-rated striker recently took to Instagram to share a nostalgic post that caught the attention of Barcelona supporters.
In the images, Asllani recreated childhood photographs taken at Berlin’s Sportplatz Hohenschonhausen, standing in the exact same location while wearing the same Barcelona jersey from the 2008-09 season.
The post was accompanied by a simple caption that resonated with many fans. “Same place, different time,”
The Instagram post offered a glimpse into Asllani’s journey from a young Barça supporter to one of the Bundesliga’s emerging attacking talents.
The 23-year-old has often spoken about his admiration for Barcelona and has previously admitted that representing the Catalan giants remains one of his biggest ambitions.
Earlier this year, during the Bundesliga winter break, Asllani attended Barcelona’s league victory over Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium, where the Blaugrana secured a 2-0 win.
Earlier in the season, the striker openly discussed his admiration for Barça, stating.
“My dream club has always been FC Barcelona; I’ve always wanted to play there. I’d like to play in the Champions League someday. It’s important to have dreams and work toward achieving them,” he had said.

While Asllani’s social media activity has generated discussion among Barcelona fans, his immediate future appears likely to remain in Germany.
Borussia Dortmund are closing in on a deal worth around €30 million to sign the Hoffenheim forward after an impressive season in which he contributed 10 goals and 11 assists.
However, the transfer itself was not the focal point of Asllani’s latest message.
Instead, the post served as a reflection on his footballing journey and the dreams that accompanied him from childhood.
