Tom Bischof excelled at left-back for FC Bayern, scoring twice from range as they came from 0-2 down to beat Freiburg 3-2. Heidenheim’s Patrick Mainka impressed in the draw at Mönchengladbach, winning nine duels and scoring. Augsburg’s Keven Schlotterbeck dominated defensively, winning seven of nine ground duels and completing 92 percent of his passes.

Alex Grimaldo shone in Bayer Leverkusen’s 6-3 win over Wolfsburg, netting twice and supplying four key passes. Exequiel Palacios controlled midfield with 89 percent pass accuracy, an assist and three ground duels won. Ibrahim Maza was a constant threat, winning a penalty, creating three key passes and scoring.

Arnaud Kalimuendo was lively for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2-2 draw with Köln, scoring, completing 97 percent of his passes and completing two dribbles. With Köln two down, Jakub Kaminski sparked the fightback, taking seven shots and finding the net. For RB Leipzig, Antonio Nusa struck a superb goal and completed two dribbles.

Up front, Philip Tietz delivered for Mainz, hitting a clinical brace in the 2-1 win over Hoffenheim.
