The Eintracht forward beat big-name rivals in the vote for the Bundesliga’s best player in October.
Jonathan Burkardt has won the Bundesliga Player of the Month award for October, as voted for by fans, club representatives and pundits. The forward was in Eintracht’s starting line-up for all three league games last month, and scored back-to-back braces against SC Freiburg and FC St. Pauli.
The 25-year-old was ruthless in front of goal in October, netting four times from just seven attempts, giving him a goals-per-shot ratio of better than one every two.
Over the course of the 2025/26 season so far, Burkardt has nine goals and an assist across 14 competitive outings.
High-calibre competition
The Eintracht No.9 finished ahead of some household names in the vote for the October prize: Leipzig’s Christoph Baumgartner, Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo and Bayern Munich trio Luis Díaz, Joshua Kimmich and Michael Olise were the other members on the shortlist.
