Talk that Burnley are in the hunt for NEC Nijmegen forward Sontje Hansen in the ongoing window is wide of the mark, according to the Daily Mirror.

Scott Parker’s side are third in the Championship table and they are pushing to get automatic promotion this season.

Burnley are in the market for a winger and former Ajax academy product Hansen is on their list.

It has been suggested that Burnley are in talks with the Dutch outfit regarding a deal for Hansen.

The Clarets have been said to be considering a loan deal with an obligation to buy Hansen in the summer for £3.5m.

However, the claim regarding Hansen being a player Burnley want to bring in at Turf Moor in the ongoing season is wide of the mark.

Parker’s side are not interested in Hansen now and they are exploring other options in the market.

Hansen was previously linked with Sheffield United in the ongoing window, but Chris Wilder’s side are also not considering a deal for him.
