Jonathan Tah and Granit Xhaka met up after the international match and talked off the pitch, including about Vincent Kompany – and the Bayern professional’s assessment is clear.
After Germany’s 4:3 win against Switzerland, Jonathan Tah and his former Leverkusen team-mate Granit Xhaka had a brief conversation in the dressing room. According to Sky, the Swiss asked specifically about Bayern coach Vincent Kompany.
The central defender left no doubt about his opinion, describing the Belgian as a „top coach“ and finding only positive words for the record champions‘ coach on a personal level.
Xhaka not only wanted to know how Kompany works as a coach, but also how he acts as a person. The 30-year-old painted a thoroughly positive picture and made it clear that he thinks a lot of his current coach, both in terms of sport and character.

Earlier, another old companion had already found words of praise for the Bayern coach: David Silva, who played with Kompany at Manchester City for many years, said of the Belgian: „He has an eye for everything, thinks deeply about things and works incredibly hard“.
The Spaniard had also recognized early on which path his former teammate would take. „Vincent always had what it takes to be a coach,“ Silva explained in an interview with the Münchner Merkur. Silva also sees Kompany’s current environment at FC Bayern as ideal. „Now he’s also landed at a club like Bayern, which is used to winning – an ideal combination,“ said the former playmaker.
A clear picture emerges from the exchange between current and former companions: Kompany enjoys great recognition both on and off the pitch. This is also reflected on the pitch this season. FC Bayern have the best chance of lifting the title at the end of the season in all competitions.
