CAF Champions League: MCA - Al-Hilal, Rhulani Mokwena unwavering
MC Alger is gearing up for a pivotal showdown in the CAF Champions League. Third in their group with four points, the Doyen has little margin for error as they prepare to host group leaders Al-Hilal SC on Friday night at the Ali Ammar stadium, known as Ali La Pointe, in Douera (20:00), for matchday 5.
In the pre-match press conference, Rhulani Mokwena struck an assertive and determined tone.
"We are ready and confident. The win against St-Eloi Lupopo (2-0) has reignited our hopes, and we are going to fight to give ourselves a real chance," he declared,
fully aware that only a win will keep MCA's campaign alive.
The South African coach is nevertheless expecting a fierce battle, describing this clash as "the toughest match of the season." He broke down the opposition's strengths:
"Al-Hilal can press high, play with different blocks, and take advantage of rapid transitions. It’s a well-rounded team with players who are extremely aggressive in duels."
Mokwena went on to underline the objective:
Larbi Tabti returns to the squad, while Mohamed Réda Halaïmia remains sidelined.
