Cafu on Roma under Gasperini: “They can fight for the title.” | OneFootball

Roma-Milan, a match between two Scudetto contenders. At least according to Marcos Cafu.

The former defender was interviewed by today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, focusing on tonight’s match at the Olimpico, kick-off at 8:45 PM.

“Inter are strong,” the former Brazilian winger specified, “but the Giallorossi and Rossoneri are in the top four in the standings and must aim high. Even for the Scudetto.”

For Cafu, the match will be exciting and spectacular “because two great teams will face off, both achieving important results,” he explained. “Perhaps even better than many could have imagined at the start of the season.” Mr. Gian Piero Gasperini deserves much of the credit for the Giallorossi’s start.

The former defender, according to him, is a great coach and has the experience to turn any team around: “His career speaks for itself: when they let him work, he’s always done amazing things.”

Still speaking about Roma and their potential, the Scudetto goal could be a key focus this season.

“Never before have they been able to compete for the title,” Cafu concluded. “Now the European competitions will resume, and if Inter advance to the Champions League playoffs and Roma qualify directly for the Europa League round of 16, the Nerazzurri could slow things down.”
